1. What is the entrance tax fee to enter Chile?

Travelers who have an American, Canadian, Australian, Albanian, and Mexican passport must pay an reciprocity fee before arriving at immigration control: United States – USD 131, Canada – USD 132, Australia – USD 61, Albania – USD 30, Mexico – USD 26.

The entry tax only applies to travelers flying into Chile. If you enter the country by road or sea, then no tax applies.




2. What should be declared upon entry to Chile?

Travelers to Chile need declare items such as vegetables, fruits, dairy product and flowers, upon entering the country, otherwise they could be fined. For a complete list of declared items, please contact your Chile For Less Travel Advisor.




3. What should travelers be aware of upon their arrival Chile’s national airport?

As soon as the traveler has finished the customs procedures, they should make their way to exit number 3, the meeting point at international arrivals. There, a Chile For Less representative will be waiting with a sign featuring the traveler’s or group’s name.


4. Are there departure taxes for flying out of Chile?

For all flights from Arturo Merino Benitez Airport (EZE) in Santiago, Chile, all passengers must pay a national or international departures tax to the airline at the time of buying the ticket.

International:
Flights less than 500 km (310 miles): $4992 pesos ($9.33 USD)
Flights more than 500 km (310 miles): $30 USD

Domestic:
Flights less than 270 km (167 miles): $1,969 pesos ($3.68 USD)
Flights more than 270 km (167 miles): $4,992 pesos ($9.33 USD)

Please note that other airports in Chile may have different departure tax rates and policies.
